Sofea Malamis, Director

Mrs. Sofea has been a dedicated member of our family for over 18 years.  She has played multiple roles within our program, serving as both a parent and educator.  With a strong passion for early learning, Mrs. Sofea is committed to enriching young minds through play and mindful experiences.  She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration, providing her with a solid foundation in both educational principles and organizational management.  Mrs. Sofea has also completed extensive training in the Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies, the Jolly Phonics Literacy Program, and Montessori Instruction.  Her expertise in these areas allows her to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students.  Mrs. Sofea is dedicated to ensuring that every child at Archangels Academy Preschool receives a high-quality education and has the opportunity to thrive in school and in life. 

Katerina Alexakos

 Kyria Katerina has been teaching Greek language and culture at our Academy for 19 years.  Kyria Katerina implements modern pedagogical methods and practices in her lessons while being supportive and encouraging to our students.  She attends yearly teacher workshops hosted by the Department of Greek Education of the Metropolis of Chicago and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Evi Marouda

Evi has been an integral part of the Archangels Academy Preschool for the past 2 years.  With a background in environmental conservation and education, Evi brings a unique perspective to her role as a teacher.  She holds a degree in The Protection of Forests and Endangered Species from Greece, as well as a degree in teaching Greek as a second language.  Evi's passion for nature/science and her expertise in Greek language instruction make her a valuable asset to the preschool.  She is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where children can develop a love for nature and language.  Evi is committed to helping her students thrive and grow during their time at Archangels Academy Preschool.  

Angela Evangelopoulos

Shaping student experiences, Ms. Angela develops and cultivates a love of learning in our students.  She currently works as a Behavior Therapist where she assesses and addresses behavioral needs of widely varying individuals as she builds skills and achievements of children.  Ms. Angela oversees the social-emotional component of our program and helps our students develop healthy behaviors that will benefit them for years to come.

Father George Lamberis 

Fr. George's priority is the faith formation of our students and their families.  He visits the classroom regularly and engages our students with mini-lessons, hands-on and age-appropriate lessons on the Orthodox Faith.  We welcome Fr. George to Saint Spyridon and to the Archangels Academy.
